Colorado in January:

In January, I couldn't take it any longer, and I had to go see the Colorado Rygs.  Despite my best effort to hate Boulder, I loved it.  How could you NOT love Boulder?  Smarty pants, green, granola-y people riding their bikes amidst stellar scenery and near-constant sunshine?  Great food, great shopping, amazing mountains?   Compost heaps everywhere, recycling as the norm not the exception?  Love. Love. Love.

And so, despite my gut-wrenching pain in living so far away from my brother, I get it.  He's so happy there.  It's so lovely there.  They have an amazing life there.  And we have a great place to visit.

I almost forgot to tell you about the best part of the weekend.  We took the kids ice skating at a sweet little outdoor rink, and (in my humble, not even slightly biased opinion) Wylie was a natural.  And just as naturally, Addy only cared to learn about spin moves and flips- the plain old forward motion was just a drag to her.  That's who she is- a girl with flair and a flash of fancy about her.  And this is who Wylie G is to a "t"- a fast moving dynamo-on-the-go.

Auntie Tang Tang brought plenty of snacks for our hike.

Getting in some long overdue sibling bonding time.

Catching a ride with his beloved Uncle CoCo.  Wylie's favorite realization of the trip was that he and Coco share several things in common- they are both tall, both have brown hair, and are both "Wylie's".  (Jeff is "Jeffrey Wylie")

Tennelle took this picture and sent a caption to Adam that read, "How embarrassing.  Sarah is dressing like the Boulder wildlife".  So true.

My handsome brother in a beautiful place.

At "rocket" park

The cutest little ice skater I know.

The way we "ride" through the airport.  This was taken at 11:45 PM when we headed out to catch a cab home.  A long trip, but oh-so-fun.

Note: It probably goes without saying that I still regularly say a prayer that an amazing, offer-he-can't-refuse job will open up for Jeff in Chicago.  Join me in this prayer if you'd like.  It's a more-the-merrier sort of prayer.
