Christmas Three, a suprise guest, and a happy 33rd for soon-to-be-auntie tang tang

On the 26th, Adam and I were on our way out the door to eat dinner and my phone buzzed twice, once that we had gotten an email from B (which always brightens our day!) that she was doing well, and had a wonderful Christmas with her family. She said that Wylie continues to move around a lot, and that she shared a few Christmas cookies with him:) It's amazing how something so small as an email from B can be such a connection to our soon-to-be life as parents. We are absolutely overjoyed to hear from her, and love any little news she has about her pregnancy, and the baby. We could tell Christmas 3 was kicking off to a good start!

The second buzz was a phone call from an old high school friend, Kristen, that was stranded in Indy on her way from Jacksonville, FL to Chicago. What a great suprise visitor! We rescued her from her airport mess, took her out to dinner with us, and had a great sleepover where I was able to catch up on girl talk and hear about her upcoming wedding. What a joy that we had such a wonderful friend visit in such an unexpected way.

Christmas Three began on a day warm enough for Adam to take a brief motorcycle ride (note to all pro-helmet family members: Adam was wearing his helmet, but it does NOT look cool in pictures, AND, I was not riding the motorcycle, just decided to jump in for the photo opportunity!) and ended with a great gift exchange with Mombo and Bobbo and Jeff and Tennelle. Wylie got his first stocking full of gifts- cute outfits that were actually some of my brother Jeff's when he was a baby, and new tiny baby socks- hard to believe that in a little less than four months, our baby will be in those socks! Hooray! though Mombo had a rotten cold, it was so nice to share an evening with them. We are so thrilled about what a terrific addition Wylie will be to these family holidays, and what fun he will have with all six of his grandparents!

We wrapped up our holiday with a suprise birthday dinner for Tennelle's 33rd birthday, complete with a black forest cake! Happy Birthday, Tennelle!! We joke with Tennelle that we plan to teach Wylie to call her "Auntie Tang Tang", which is her GREAT nickname! Fun, right?! But more fun than that is knowing that by living so close to each other, not only will Wylie and Addison be within a short bicycle ride of each other's houses, they'll also be able to share birthday memories together!

Hi Sarah and Adam,

We are sooo enjoying the Blog. I'm glad that B's doing well with the pregnancy. She is very brave. Although I will never meet her, I want to give her a big hug. She is a gift in your life. We like to check in and get the Wylie update. We've already gone shopping and had a ball. We have a little monkey theme going because at some time, every mother calls her son a little monkey. They climb all over the place and try to swing or jump from one piece of furniture to another. When Rock was born, I had a carrier that attached him to the front of my torso. He would sleep on my chest with his legs warpped around my waist when he could, Sort of like baby monkeys do. I could actually clean the house doing this!! So, we called him monkey-boy.

“Men spend their lives in anticipations, in determining to be vastly happy at some period or other, when they have time. But the present time has one advantage over every other, it is our own. ”- Charles Caleb Colton The egg nog will taste different next year at this time - for everyone in fact. The tree will be fuller and the thoughts deeper. We will reflect about how different this Christmas was than last. We will appreciate the present - as the noun speaks for itself does it not? We will stare into an new set of eyes, wondering how they view us and when? Let them see all, especially the love you both clearly have in your hearts. God Bless the both of you in this upcoming year! Narnia
